Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Marianne Owens attended San Jose State University and received her BA in Radio, Television, and Film with a minor in advertising.
Marianne is a fine art photographer and has exhibited her work at open studios, art festivals, galleries, and retail stores. For the past 20 years she has worked for DrawBridge, an expressive arts program for homeless and under-served children where she serves on the Board of Directors. She has created and led film and digital photography programs for young adults, teens, and taught high school photography, and art for 13 years. Marianne’s role as an artist and educator has given her the opportunity to inspire and teach young people art and technical skills, and to foster their abilities and be creative thinkers, collaborators, and problem solvers.

I create and lead expressive arts programs within a range of community settings. I work with youth from trauma-based backgrounds, juvenile probation, foster services, underserved youth and families, and special needs youth.
